The Perfect Keto French Toast Recipe

This Keto French Toast recipe is a great sweet breakfast that you can enjoy on a low carbohydrate diet. French toast is one of my all-time favorite breakfast foods to have. It’s tasty, and if done right, it can actually be a healthy start to your day.

The traditional French toast generally combines well with toppings, condiments and garnishes such as maple syrup or honey, fruits, ice cream or even chocolate!

While all these sound delicious, they are often far from keto friendly, and most are generally not the healthiest option (with the exception of certain fruits).

This recipe does contain egg, so it’s not suitable for Vegans. We have created a delicious Vegan French Toast Recipe that you can check out.

If you are after a low-carbohydrate or keto-friendly option then this recipe is for you!

Making the Perfect Keto French Toast

For your bread, you have two options:

  1. You can try making your own by following our Keto Bread Recipe, which is great if you plan on making a loaf of bread.
  2. Alternatively, we also have an easy recipe shown below that can be whipped up in as little as 5 minutes.

The rest of this recipe is like your standard French toast. You simply combine your ingredients to create a batter, then dip the bread into the batter to coat it.

Once it is coated, the bread can be fried in a pan to a golden, crispy texture. Yummy and done!

Once the bread has been fried up, all that’s left is to add your toppings. To keep things keto-friendly, use Lakanto (monkfruit) powdered sugar (or syrup) and add some berries. Just remember to take it easy on the berries! 1
