Prostate Enlargement Symptoms

The prostate is a walnut-sized gland, located at the base of a man’s penis, and sits below the bladder. Unfortunately, prostate enlargement (BPH) can be an unpleasant experience for men.

Today, we’d like to address what are some of the prostate enlargement symptoms that men may experience and some of the natural treatments for prostate enlargement.

One of the most common signs a man will notice is the slowing of his urine stream. This may include taking longer to get the stream started and or finish.

During the stream, you may experience some dribbling or leakage which may start and stop, a sudden or uncontrollable urgency to urinate. Men may also find that they are getting up several times during the night to urinate.

Other symptoms may include feeling bloated, feeling that you’re not emptying the bladder properly, or you may feel some fullness and experience urinary infections.

In extreme cases, when prostate enlargement symptoms are not treated, the kidneys may get blocked up which can cause kidney failure.

Experiencing prostate enlargement symptoms does not imply that you have prostate cancer. However, should you have any concerns, it is always best to seek medical attention.

This is no laughing matter. Prostate cancer has become the second leading cause of death among men in the USA.

The risk of prostate cancer increases the older you get. Over 80% of men with prostate cancer are over the age of 65, and 20% of men with prostate cancer have found that other family members have experienced it as well.

Reduce The Risk

A great way to reduce the risk of prostate enlargement and prostate cancer is through healthy eating and regular exercise. They are by far the most cost-effective and easiest natural treatments for prostate enlargement.

Eating a diet low in saturated fat, with a full variety of fruit and vegetable will increase your natural vitamins and minerals intake. As an additional bonus, consuming Green Tea and Soy products may reduce the risk of prostate cancer cells.

The most common natural treatments for prostate enlargement is to simply have sex or masturbate more frequently. The prostate gland secretes approximately 30% of the seminal fluid produced by the body.

The ejaculation process has been identified to flush out toxins from your body.

Effective Natural Treatments for Prostate Enlargement

There are several natural remedies widely used and have been known to reduce the symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate.

Stinging nettle and nettle root

You can either make a nettle leaf tea by boiling the leaves for about 10 minutes and drinking the tea 2-3 times a day as desired. Alternatively, you can consume supplements.

Saw palmetto berry extract

These are rich in fatty acids and a natural anti-inflammatory agent. It has been recognized as one of the most effective natural treatments for prostate enlargement on the market and has also been used to treat urinary track infections (UTI).

Pygeum

Pygeum is a herb from Africa which has been proven to reduce the symptoms of urinary track infections, inflammation, enlarged prostate, kidney disease and prostate cancer.

The fact that Pygeum is an alkalizing herb may well be one of the biggest draw cards in its use for treating an enlarged prostate.

Prunus Africana

The bark of Prunus Africana, the African Cherry, has also been used to treat prostate enlargement, and it has been known to help boost sexual desires. 1

Sea Moss

Research into the effectiveness of sea moss as a natural treatment option for various types of cancer have included isolating structures such as bryostatin 1, which have opened the door to alternatives. 2

Though this research has been somewhat slow-moving and confronted by challenges with access to sufficient sources of Bugula Neritina, many hold out hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin Seeds contain oils and fatty acids known to help shrink the size of an enlarged prostate and help to improve urine flow.

Consume pumpkin seeds 3-4 times a week, you can eat pumpkin seeds whole, add them to smoothies, make pumpkin seed milk or make tea using crushed seeds. It may take up to a month before you feel the benefits of consuming pumpkin seeds.

Kegel Exercises

Strengthen your pelvic floor muscles by doing some kegel exercises. Kegel exercises help to tighten and strengthen the muscles around the pelvic area of both men and women. These exercises will help with control during urination.

Squeeze the muscles around your bladder to stop the flow of urine. Or you can clench the muscles in your anus. You can do these kegel exercises whilst sitting, or during an exercise routine. Do these exercises 10 to 15 times per rep several times per day.

Prostate Oil is said to be one of the most effective natural treatments for prostate enlargement. Drink the Prostate Oil at night before going to bed and the effects are quite rapid.

Prostate Enlargement Treatments

The first question is, do you need to be treated? If so, your healthcare practitioner will be able to verify what prostate enlargement treatments are available in more detail and which they would recommend for you.

Don’t assume that if you have an enlarged prostate you need to take medication. Prostate enlargement treatments should be taken into consideration if you are symptomatic.

In other words, unless the symptoms that you’re experiencing are affecting your capacity to live a comfortable lifestyle, no evidence suggests that you will prevent it from getting worse by taking medication.

Prostate enlargement treatments should be given to relieve your symptoms. It is your choice as to whether you would prefer to take pharmaceutical medications versus natural treatments for prostate enlargement.
